Lee County Emergency Medical Services in cooperation with your local fire districts, the American Heart Association, your local hospitals and other local health care providers are working to create Heart Ready communities, organization, and businesses throughout Lee County, Florida. These Heart Ready entities are those that achieve and maintain a certain status in their preparedness for heart-related emergencies.

Lee County EMS offers the American Heart Association's HeartSaver AED and HeartSaver First Aid public education courses. Due to the high demand of these courses and course availability, courses must be scheduled approximately 45 days in advance. Lee County Public Safety continues to encourage people and organizations with AEDs must notify Lee County Public Safety of their location and contact number for use by 9-1-1 and the Emergency Dispatch Center; AED operators should receive training, utilizing approved national standard curriculum; AEDs purchased/used in Lee County should meet or exceed FDA requirements.
