Lee County, Florida's Public Safety division is comprised of several programs with functions designed to assist residents, visitors and local government agencies.
9-1-1 PROGRAM responsible for maintaining a county-wide fully enhanced emergency telephone number system. Manager: Matt Rechkemmer.
EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM responsible for planning and response to large scale emergency and disasters. Manager: David Saniter.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES PROGRAM responsible for providing advanced life support pre-hospital emergency and primary health care utilizing both ground and air ambulance support. Deputy Director, Lee County Public Safety: Chris Hansen.
TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROGRAM encompassing a county-wide emergency radio system and dispatch center that handles requests for fire, emergency medical and emergency management assistance as well as various county departments after hours. Manager: Bruce Dennington.
LOGISTICS PROGRAM provides support services for all EMS active and special event ambulance units. Process requests for, receive and distribute all property for Public Safety. Manager: John Norton.
INFORMATION RESOURCES PROGRAM provides routine and emergency public safety related information to residents and visitors of Lee County. Provide oversight and guidance on the data collection processes and systems for Emergency Medical Services and other public safety programs consistent with the goals of the County's information technology plan. Additionally, this division furnishes fire protection services to dependent fire districts, administers an 800 MHz communications system for Lee County government operations and local municipalities, and administers the distribution of fire and EMS impact fee monies to independent fire districts and EMS agencies.
